gorden gower SchoolsPLP Support Staff Spotlight!
The Support Staff Spotlight showcases one of the people who work to help YOU work faster and easier in SchoolsPLP!

This month's spolight is on Gordon Gower, Senior Training & Support Lead! Gordon spent over ten years teaching ELA/Reading at Title I middle schools in Tucson, Arizona. Originally he set his sights on becoming a high school English teacher but after a few years in the middle school environment, he decided to remain a 6th grade ELA teacher, honing his classroom management skills and teaching YA (young adult) novels.
Now a ten-year veteran of SchoolsPLP, Gordon loves to support and train teachers across the country on how to successfully implement online learning. Gordon is part of a family of educators, as his mother was a principal and an Arizona Turn Around Coach, and his wife is a middle school administrator! In his free time, Gordon enjoys learning wood working, playing with noisy machines and spending time with his wife and step-daughter. We are fortunate to have Gordon on our support team!
special education Check out the new 'Mark as missing' assignment feature in the Gradebook!
Along with the ability to mark assignments excused or allow a retry, you can now mark an assignment as missing. This is a good way to keep track of assignments that you are waiting for students to complete. Once the Mark as missing button has been clicked, look for this icon missing-icon in the Gradebook to indicate that assignment is missing. You can always change this status by returning to the same area and clicking the un-mark missing button.
ten second tip Have you used any tools in the SchoolsPLP Toolkit?
It's easy to access and add fillable templates to your course like a Venn Diagram! Students can click and type with ease! No need to download an extension or print!

Another handy tool in the SchoolsPLP toolkit is the special education Unlock Assessment Item. This tool can be added to any course and placed before an assessment instead of using an assessment password. When a student is ready to take the assessment, their teacher can simply excuse the Unlock Assessment Item in the gradebook or hide it in the Learning Plan so only that student can access the test!
ten second tip Our New SchoolsPLP Proxy Feature!
Need to see what your student sees when they log into PLP? Use our new Proxy Feature! Simply click on any student's name, then choose student set up in the top right-hand corner, then click Proxy as Student. Once you have explored the student's dashboard, don't forget to click the user icon at the top right and choose Unproxy to get back to your staff view. And if you are an admin, you can also proxy as a teacher if you need to see the dashboard from their point of view!
