Information Collection
SchoolsPLP uses the information we collect when you use our platform in connection with your relationship with SchoolsPLP, your use of the services, and for sending you information related to those services.
Information Sharing
If you create an account or share Personal Information with other users on SchoolsPLP's services, your information may be visible to others as configured by your school/institution. Student data will only be visible to their administrators, teachers, and parents. We do not share Personal Information with third parties for their marketing purposes; however, we may share information under limited circumstances as described in this policy.
Third-Party Analytics Providers
We work with analytics service providers to help us understand usage of our services, but we ensure this is done in a privacy-protective manner.
How Accounts Are Created
Users must create a SchoolsPLP account to access SchoolsPLP's services. The use of SchoolsPLP is contingent on our processing of your Personal Information as set forth in this Privacy Policy. By creating an account and/or using SchoolsPLP's services, you are consenting to these practices. SchoolsPLP's services are not offered directly to students. They are only available through Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) such as schools and school districts that sign up for primary accounts and then invite students, teachers, and parents to use SchoolsPLP through accounts they create.
When LEAs purchase licenses, SchoolsPLP creates an organization in the product and grants administrative access to that organization through primary accounts. The LEA then dictates student enrollments and teachers/administrators into schools and classrooms. When the LEA creates student accounts/enrollments, they are acting on behalf of parents to give SchoolsPLP permission to collect the information described in this Privacy Policy, and SchoolsPLP is acting as a service provider to the LEA.
When the primary account belongs to a LEA, student accounts will be populated in coordination with that LEA. Students will then be provided login information in a manner specific to that district and in accordance with LEA policy, which may in some cases be through a LEA-wide "single sign-on" or by communicating an initial login and password to the student.
Consent by LEAs, Teachers, and Parents
If you are a student of any age, you must get permission from your LEA or LEA-authorized representative to use the services.
SchoolsPLP services are not offered directly to students, and LEAs must first sign up for primary accounts, and then invite students, teachers, and parents to use SchoolsPLP through the accounts they create. LEAs that have obtained licenses must provide consent on behalf of students for SchoolsPLP to collect and use student data described in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collected Automatically
When you use SchoolsPLP's services, we automatically collect certain technical information, such as:
- IP addresses
- Browser type and operating system
- Timezone settings
- Information regarding interaction within our services
Cookies: We use cookies to recognize when someone connecting to our sites is logged in or has visited before. To learn more about browser cookies, including how to manage or delete them, look in the Tools, Help or similar section of your browser, or visit allaboutcookies.org.
Analytics: We use analytics tools to help us understand how users interact with our services. By using our services, you agree to our use of these information collection technologies.
What Other Users Can See
When the primary account belongs to a LEA, the account administrator designated by the LEA can access all information we collect about students that we make available through our services. LEA-designated administrators can delegate the right to view student information in accordance with LEA policy. Each teacher within that LEA can see only information relating to students' participation in classes taught by that teacher (unless granted additional access by the LEA account administrator).

Third-Party Content & Links
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by SchoolsPLP. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of any website you visit.
Children's Information (COPPA)
Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important to SchoolsPLP. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA"), which requires parental consent before collecting personally identifiable information from children under 13. Instead of collecting such information directly from children, we rely upon the schools to provide appropriate consents and act as the parent's agent in this regard. Parents who wish to review their child's user data must request the information from their child's teacher or access it through their LEA.
Data Breach & Security
In the event of a data breach impacting your Personal Information, we will provide notification in compliance with all applicable laws and our contracts with LEAs. We have procedures in place designed to stop threats, restore functionality, and document incidents.
How to Delete or Correct Information
When LEAs create accounts, the LEA remains the sole owner of the educational data. All requests to review, delete, or correct student or teacher information should be directed to the LEA. If we receive a request from a student, parent, or guardian, we will route such request to the LEA and assist them as needed to respond within a reasonable timeframe. If a LEA requests deletion of data under their control, we will promptly delete it, subject to any legal requirements.
International Users
Our Services are operated in the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, please be aware that information we collect will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Services, you consent to this transfer, processing, and storage of your information in the United States.
How We Retain and Delete Your Data
We retain Personal Information only for as long as necessary to provide services to the account holder, as required by applicable laws, or as specified in our contract with a LEA. Upon termination of an account, we take commercially reasonable steps to delete Personal Information from our systems. Data may be returned to the LEA as directed by our agreement. If no specific instructions are included, the data will be returned or destroyed when our relationship ends, when it's no longer needed, when advised by the LEA, or as directed by our agreement.
